The most cherished moments of any trip happen in the shared areas where everyone can gather with ease. The Great Room at Pinetree Chalet is architecturally designed to keep your group connected in spacious, welcoming comfort:
Seats 16 at One Table: Our custom-built dining table comfortably seats up to 16 guests at one unified table—a unique feature in Sun Peaks. No one is required to eat in shifts. You'll also find plenty of dinnerware and four additional counter seats so up to 20 people can stay connected in one beautiful space.
Beyond mealtimes, the table serves as a central gathering place for board and card games, puzzles, family reunions, holiday celebrations, corporate retreats, team meetings and group discussions, making it the heart of the home throughout your stay.
Dual Adjacent Living Rooms: We uniquely offer two connected living areas that comfortably seat up to 14 people. The furniture layout provides a natural separation for different conversations, or the choice for your group to socialize all together.
Panoramic Mountain Views: The main living spaces are framed by a 20' high wall of windows showcasing the most magnificent sweeping views in Sun Peaks. The architectural "prow" design of the house is designed to bring the surrounding mountain landscape directly into the home, immersing you in nature.

At 4000+ square feet, Pinetree Chalet is the largest vacation rental home in Sun Peaks. You'll appreciate that space at night when the home naturally spreads people out into comfortable, well-planned sleeping areas. Even at full capacity, rooms aren't overcrowded — and no one is sleeping in a room designed for gathering.
7 Distinct Sleeping Areas: By utilizing the Lodgepole Hideaway, Main House and Sugar Pine Suite, we offer up to six bedrooms with the option to add a 'bonus' room — the most in the Sun Peaks resort area. This gives your group several private sleeping areas within one home, and the flexibility to choose the areas that best suit your group.
Up to 15 Separate Sleeping Places: Our expansive layout provides the highest capacity permitted in Sun Peaks, ensuring maximum flexibility for up to 16 overnight guests when group members prefer not to share a bed.
Flexible Sanctuaries: We have designed our spaces to be intentionally flexible. Whether it's a themed retreat, multi-family stay, corporate meet-up, golf getaway, team lodging or a couples ski trip you'll find the house ideally set up specifically for you. Even our bunk room features custom-built log beds—thoughtfully designed and sturdily built with generous headroom, so adults can sit up comfortably.
Quality Comfort & Sleep: You'll find luxurious New Zealand wool mattress pads and organic cotton sheets, cozy extra blankets, and a whole-house HRV air-exchange system for fresh mountain air while you slumber.

One of the biggest hurdles for large groups is managing the "morning rush" and "bedtime routines". With up to six bathrooms available, Pinetree Chalet offers a rare 1:2 bathroom-to-guest ratio. While we specialize in bringing people together, we know that large groups also appreciate the freedom to spread out. Pinetree Chalet features nine distinct living and lounge areas (both indoor and outdoor), ensuring that everyone can find a quiet corner:
Indoor Zones: This includes the Main Living Room, the adjacent Family Room, the Lodgepole Hideaway for movies or games, and the private Suite Lounge for a peaceful oasis.
Outdoor Zones: We offer three private balconies and two large decks — read, enjoy a game, work remotely, or have an intimate coffee chat under the mountain sky.
5. Seamless Logistics: Parking, Gear & Access
Managing a large group can come with complex logistics — so we have designed Pinetree Chalet to make them effortless:
Stress-Free Parking: We provide on-site parking for up to 5 vehicles, a vital asset in a resort where street parking is restricted.
The "Basecamp" Gear Hub: Three foyers feature ample storage and hooks for your gear and outerwear—plus convenient on-site laundry facilities.
Slope-side Living with Year-Round Adventure at Your Doorstep: Situated directly on the slopes of Tod Mountain, Pinetree Chalet offers true ski-in access. You can park on-site and ski back home in winter, while a short 3-minute (200-metre) walk brings you back to the Sunburst connector. The village is a quick and scenic stroll away. In every season, you have a choice of several hiking, biking, and snowshoe trails that begin right at your doorstep.
Hot Tub: After a day in the great Sun Peaks outdoors, sink into the hot tub and enjoy some real hydrotherapy. Our guests often comment on how the powerful jets effectively massage tired muscles — making it the ultimate post-activity recovery spot. The open-air setting incorporates majestic scenery and a front-row seat to the natural surroundings of Pinetree Chalet. There's nothing like soaking in the hot tub while snowflakes gently fall, listening to the stream, or gazing up at a canopy of stars. It's a mountain experience you'll remember long after your stay.

Feeding a large group requires a "culinary command center". Our kitchen is exceptionally well stocked and specifically designed for collective meal preparations:
Space to Move: The large layout is well spaced and allows multiple cooks to work simultaneously.
Intentional Storage: We provide plenty of cupboard space so your group can store 1-2 weeks worth of food.
Dual-Fridge Efficiency: A dedicated beverage station with second full fridge keeps "drink traffic" away from the main cooking area. (Plus another full kitchen in the suite.)
